Practicing yoga on the water can seem a little intimidating. After all, many of us find plenty of challenges balancing on land! But before you write off standup paddleboard (SUP) yoga as impossible, here’s what I tell all first-timers: “If you can breathe, you can do yoga. If you can stand on one foot, you can paddle.” Get your feet wet with these SUP poses.
SUP Yoga is a great way to improve balance, gain core strength, and connect with nature and friends. Practicing yoga on a SUP brings a whole new perspective to being fully present in the moment Asanas (yoga postures) create a new challenge while floating, requiring full awareness, acceptance of mother natures mood and of course a sense of humor! Get ready to enjoy your strong core.
The class will float together and share the practice of yoga. After a peaceful floating shavasana, you will paddle back to shore.
As always pre-registration is required.
You need to be at the Launch Site by 9:15 to push off for Class at 9:30am. You will launch from the Lovers Key Paddle Board/Kayak Launch at Lovers Key State Park, near the Friends of Lovers Key Welcome & Discovery Center.
Adding another skilled workout to your routine will feel empowering. Once you complete your first class, you will feel a sense of accomplishment!
You cannot use your class pass for this class.
The drop in fee for this class is $15
Pre-Registration is Required
Arrive at 9 am and proceed to the Concession Area, there you will pay for your board, sign a waiver, then grab your paddle & life vest.
The next step, proceed to the Kayak Launch.
Cost for the Board rental is $20.
Yes, you may use your own paddleboard. Please bring your board, paddle, and vest to the Lovers Key Kayak launch by 9:15 am.
Life vests are required, plus they just make sense.
